New camera

Before coming here (or even to Australia) I wanted to buy one of these good, “professional” cameras but I just haven’t had the money for it. But a few weeks ago I saw an ad of this kind of camera that one guy was selling and it was quite cheap so then I just decided to buy it. And I’m so happy I did! I’ve had my smaller camera for about 3,5 years now so I guess it was time for a new one. And now I’m so excited to go travelling with this new camera! First I just have to learn how to use it and not always use the automatic settings. :D

:) joten see ya later! (olipa outo kirjottaa suomeksi)

The beach

Have I said enough how much I love living so close to the beach. It's just so relaxing to go there for a walk or a run. Can not wait for a bit warmer weather so I can go there with a book and some snacks and spend the day there while the kids are at school. Sometimes the weather can be pretty warm but along the beach the wind is always quite strong.

On some days the parents take the kids to school in the mornings so then I'm off quite early. And what better way to start a day than going for a walk at the beach!

Perfect way to wake up - a beautiful sunrise straight from my window.

Sometimes I leave the curtains a bit open when I go to sleep so the first thing I see when I wake up is the beach and the sea. Loving it!

A day in the city

I've been here about a month (now I've been here for two months but I've written this quite a long time ago...) and starting to get to know the city a bit better. And when I say city, I mean the city centre. But now I feel like I don't need to spend a lot of time just in the city, I'd rather go around, travel a bit and go for some nice walks/hikes. I'd rather see the beautiful nature than just hang around in the city. The past couple of weekends I've spent one or both days in the city and now I just wanna take a little break of going there. It's not that I don't like being there, it's just that there's so many other things to do around Auckland. And I'm so happy that I've been able to travel a bit already!

These pics are from couple weeks ago when I spent the day in the city with a German girl, Milena. First I went to see the Art Gallery with a guided tour and then we just walked around the harbour area.

Green hills

Here's some more pictures from the Long Bay Regional Park walk.

There were a lot of cows around the park but as you can see from the picture above, here I had to walk really close to them. And it was so scary. Because they were just so damn close and I felt like they could've easily jumped over the fence. Just look from the next picture how they were staring at me. :D

At the end of the walk, there was this great lookout where you could see the beach and a little bit of the park. I stood there for so long and just enjoyed this amazing view.

As I was walking back home through the park area, it started to rain and then I noticed the rainbow so I had to rush to the beach to take a picture!

Long Bay Regional Park

Time for some English again.

Some weeks ago I did this coastal walk from Long Bay all the way to Okura River which is about three hour return walk but for me it took about 4,5 hours since I stopped quite a lot to take pictures and just enjoy the views. The walk started from the Long Bay beach which is less than 5 min walk from our home. Which is pretty awesome!

I had read online that the regional park (and the beach) is really popular among the tourists. There's over a million visitors a year and it gets really busy at the beach in summer time. So when I started the walk, it didn't seem that impressive so I was wondering why are so many people coming here. But gotta say, later on the views got so much better! There were such a beautiful bays, hills and cliffs along the walk. The reason why I wanted to come to New Zealand was to see all the amazing landscapes and I feel like this was the first glimpse of them! If I was so impressed about just this park, I don't even wanna think about how amazed I will be when I travel around.

As you can see from the pictures, the weather changed all the time during the day. And it's like that almost every day; at first it can rain, then 5 minutes later it's all blue skies and then again pouring rain.

More pics coming later on. :)
